Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Here are a few of the most common questions we‘ve received. Still have a question? Send us an email

    • What happens after I sign up?

Once you sign up you'll be created an account and brought into our template gallery. Pick something you like, import it into your new account, and you're off. It's totally free to sign up for Palladio and start using and designing with it. You only need to pay once you're ready to actually load it into ConvertKit.

    • Does Palladio only work with ConvertKit?

Currently, yes. We're working on bringing on a bunch of new email platforms.

    • Do I need to be a designer or at all technical to use this?

Nope! If you can point and click, you can create totally custom email templates and widgets. Some things, like knowing how padding and margin on elements works, will come easier to web designers and developers, but it's all pretty straightforward. When you go to export into ConvertKit, you're given step-by-step instructions on what to do in ConvertKit.

    • What is a widget?

They're a bit like components that you can reuse in your emails. For example, you might want to include some nicely designed testimonial blocks in various emails you send. In Palladio, you'd create a "Testimonial" widget – made up of the quote, someone's name, and their picture. Then, whenever you need a testimonial (or three), just embed the Palladio widget directly in your email.

    • And what's the deal with workspaces?

When you sign up for Palladio, a default workspace is created for you. This workspace houses all your templates, widgets, and various brand settings (like colors and fonts), along with your ConvertKit integration information. If you juggle multiple ConvertKit accounts or brands, workspaces allow you to work in all of them without "muddying up the waters."

    • How does Palladio compare to your other product, the Creator Email Template Pack?

Palladio is the Pack – evolved. The Pack gives you a number of fixed templates and widgets that allow for some basic styling, like the changing of colors. Palladio is a complete authoring environment, and includes a lot more templates and widgets. If you want to just grab-and-go the templates included, you can do that. But if you want to go wild and fully customize everything, Palladio supports that in a way the Pack never will.

    • Who is "you" – who is behind Palladio?

For now, Palladio is run entirely by me, Brennan Dunn. I'm the creator of Mastering ConvertKit, the co-founder of RightMessage, and have been doing a lot with email marketing over the last decade or so.

    • Doesn't ConvertKit include templates?

Yes, but they're fairly basic and restrictive. You really can't go wild with truly customizing everything (want to stick a green box with a subtle drop shadow below your logo? and maybe give it 10px of rounded corners? – good luck doing that with ConvertKit!) Palladio's designed to allow you to create tasteful, automatically-responsive and "looks great everywhere" email templates that you can truly make your own. And beyond just email templates, widgets bring an entire new level of awesomeness to your emails.

    • What's your refund policy?

Fortunately I'm just one guy and Palladio is not (yet) mired down with standard operating procedures or protocols. You can use 95% of Palladio without paying me anything. You're only prompted to sign up for a paid account once it's time to actually start emailing Palladio-created templates. If, for whatever reason, you end up not being a fan of what you create, just write me in for a refund within 30 days please.
